So far in my teaching experience I base my lesson plans around what area the student struggles in most. If it’s one particular area I will focus on this switching between asking a questions and spoken basis asking the student and encouraging them to expand their knowledge. If the student would rather revision of the course or a particular region I tend to go through that section of the course, explaining and talking through it through both asking and answering questions to and from the student. I generally will then follow this up with looking at exam questions of all sorts and focusing on an overall understanding of what they’re learning, as opposed to learning information off by heart. I believe by having an interest and passion in what one is learning makes it much easier to understand and remember versus trying to rote learn information for the sake of it!
I am a student in the field of science, I have a passion for all things science, health, nutrition and maths related. I have been giving grinds for the past two years in leaving certificate higher level maths having studied biology, chemistry, home economics, French, Irish, English and maths, all at higher level for leaving certificate. I also have experience working with children teaching ballet for the past 4 years and working as a barista alongside this.
