American International Student in London tutoring in English/Math to Primary Students!

Methodology

Hi! My name is Candace. I’m a second year International Student (from America) majoring in Early Childhood Studies and Health Promotion. Having volunteered/ worked with elementary (primary) school students since I was 14 I’ve worked with children of all academic levels helping them with their English/Maths. I approach tutoring with an interactive and visual approach. I find that people learn by doing. So with repetitive practice and interactive learning games and exercises I’ve made students who were too nervous to even answer a question in class, confidently wanting to go up to the board with a couple weeks. That’s really what makes it all worth it for me.

Experience

I have been an assistant after school tutor for four years back in America. This would consist of helping 20+ students falling behind in their homework with Math, and English. By the end of the year the students showed extreme improvement, therefore no longer needing to be in the program.
