About Mateo
Hi, my name is Mateo, and I have long held a passion for language, culture and history that has lead me down a path of Modern Language study and now, teaching. I have travelled through over 25 countries and spent many aggregate months in France developing my French. I have a modern languages degree that was focussed on translation, socio-linguistics and historical and cultural studies centred around French and Spanish languages and cultures. Finally, I have some teaching experience through Asian volunteering programs and I hopefully with your help, I can further hone my craft. Thank you in advance for considering me as a candidate!

I typically tutor children with varying capabilities between the ages of 5 to 16. I aim for hour long lessons, typically with a break around half way through. My lesson plans will be adapted entirely to the goals of the tutee. I am still young and trying to evolve my methods, and have two parents who work in education with whom I can workshop. Generally I do not believe in rigid task driven lessons. Instead I believe that lessons are an opportunity for cooperation and knowledge sharing, whilst worksheets and other such tasks are best served as homework to reinforce the lessons.
