The Irish language is truly a beautiful, poetic language, unique to Ireland. It is officially our first language, and although many more speak English, there are now growing numbers of people who are choosing to speak and learn it. There are even musicians and business that conduct their work through Irish, and Irish speaking schools and universities littered across the country. One notable example is the University of Limerick, and we have also have made a guide to learning Irish in Limerick here for you!
I am a native speaker myself, and proud of it! I have been lucky enough to grow up in a town in Galway where we all speak Irish to each other! If you wish to find some Irish lessons here, check out our Irish lessons guide to Galway!
Of course the flip side of this, is that it is a difficult language, very different to English, and many students need some extra help. This is normal, and the case for many subjects. Not every teacher will suit the learning styles of every student, and cramming doesn’t work for everyone. Sure you can get revision books, and these are a good idea, but they lack the personal touch that can really help you to understand a subject!
The best way to really get help in a subject is to find your own personal tutor, or “grinds” as they are called in Ireland. These are specialized tutors who are familiar with the leaving certificate courses, and can offer expert lessons tailored to you!
This article will help you find these tutors near you!
