The leaving cert process can be a stressful one. It can feel overwhelming, with two years of work condensed into a couple of weeks. You won’t have to worry about every subject, as some of these come naturally, however, there will always be one or two you need extra help in, and this is where your very own tutor comes in!
It can be tough for teachers too, they have to cover a large curriculum in a short space of time, and prepare everyone in the class for their exams. Unfortunately, this is not always possible, and some students might get left behind. Especially if you are in a big class, sometimes a student won’t be able to receive the special help that they need, and they will start to struggle.
Dont worry, sometimes all you need is someone to sit down with you for a couple of hours a week and explain something to you for you to see your results really improve !

What are Some Reasons to Study Irish?
I am a fluent Irish speaker myself, and I was lucky enough to do my education through Irish until I went to university, and I will always recommend it to students as I believe it has great benefits personally and professionally. The Irish language is picking up in recent years, with more and more students wanting to be able to speak their native language, and this is great to see as it can open many many doors for young people whether they want to stay in Ireland, or move.
It may sound silly, but having Irish can bring you opportunities abroad. There are many recent examples of people using their Irish knowledge to teach in New York, or other cities around America! As it is not the largest of all the languages, having this along with English will give you a huge advantage, and make you a standout candidate!
Also, if you wish to stay in Europe, the Irish language can provide for you. Irish is a recognized European language, so there will always be a need for workers who can work in places like Brussels in Belgium. Such roles include translator, linguist and transcriber. Irish also competes with English when it comes to media, with Ireland having its own national TV and radio stations that work through Irish! Needless to say this creates great job opportunities.
Many of the media jobs are located in the busy Dublin, which attracts millions every year, check out our guide to learning Irish in Dublin here!
Aside from all this, it is just a great way to connect with your country, and chat and have a laugh with fellow Irish people in your native language. Now this can be easier said than done, but with a tutor you can find below, it will be made a whole lot easier.
