I believe that all the students are different and have their weaknesses and strengths therefore I like to understand their needs and structure my lessons according to those needs to ensure every student reaches their full potential. My teaching methods vary according to the student's pace and unique needs. This can involve handing out worksheets that vary in complexity and pose thought-provoking questions that allow the students to think for themselves.
Due to my individual experience I have developed worksheets/bundles of practice questions on every topic from the specification. I like to work with the student to design summary notes, try past papers, solve puzzles and carry out other activities to not only retain the material they learn from me and their Schools but to perfect their understanding of it as well.
For group lessons I also tend to encourage students to work together by promoting small group activities to help them develop their self-confidence, enhance their critical thinking and communication skills that they are going to need throughout their life.
For younger students I include reward charts that involve prizes in order to promote competition among them and enable them to work hard.
I have been tutoring some of my old fellow students to help them resit their GCSE maths exams. Also I have been and still tutor my younger three siblings. My relevant qualifications include GCSE maths, GCSE further maths, GCSE combined Science, A level Maths and A level Chemistry.
