It depends on the students, I usually adapt.
I understand that different people use different sense to learn so it’s helping the student identify what helps them learn at optimum level (visuals, writing notes, aural) and thereafter coaching a student to learn through diverse means to expand their capacity and not be over reliant on one method.
I would also identify what their interest level and skill level is so that I understand what’s the best way to coach them e.g. if one was of low skill and low interest, I would spend more time to pique interest and direct them more as opposed to someone who has higher skill and low interest, it would just be to spark excitement on the topic by providing incentives for example.
