I like to approach a topic explaining the basics eventhough the student has some knowledge about that topic. I like to use educational videos, drawings and colors to enfazise important words. After a couple of weeks or lessons I like to review with the student. I like constant interation and dialogue with the student. It's important to let them ask questions and express their ideas bc I think that helps them to develope a better selfsteem and also develope his critical thinking.
My name is Blanca Breen. I obtained a Master's degree in Chemistry from the University of PR. I worked with an international pharmaceutical company for several years but I decided to resign and dedicate my time to the early years of my children's development. During the early school years of my kids, I began to homeschool them and also created a homeschool group in our hometown. A few years later, I began to receive requests to help students, who were part of the traditional school system, with Science, Math. That's how I began a tutoring program for students of 7th and 8th grade. In more recent years I have expanded my experiences and developed other skills and passions through volunteering and other roles. I moved to Ireland with my family last year and I am eager to apply my experience to work within the educational scenario and be involved in the community. At the moment I am teaching conversational Spanish and also working as a Customer Assistant at Boots Pharmacy.
PERSONAL PROFILE
"A highly competent, and organized individual who is looking for a part-time job where my skills, experience, and ability to work with people would contribute to the success and harmony of the students.”

ACHIEVEMENTS
-Graduated Magna Cum Laude during my Master`s Degree.
-Selected as Employee of the Year 2000 for Merck, Barcelona, Puerto Rico. From a group of more than 1,200 employees.
-As the PTA President, I was able to motivate the PTA team to think out of the box and we included new programs for students and new fundraising events. We raised more funds than in the entire history of the PTA at the academy (bank funds 24 times higher than previous). The funds were used to improve the computer and science labs.
-While working as a volunteer at JSDCL, I took the initiative to write the history of the library for the first time. This initiative was a great asset for the library since we could present our development, our goals, and achievements throughout the years in a formal and structured manner to visitors, government agencies, and also our supporters. It was the basis for a newspaper report and also for the first TV interview in one of the main TV stations. It took me several months of investigations and interviews but we saw the results, very soon after that, in the number of new people who began to visit the library, new supporters, and also new sponsors during our Gala event that year.
-One of my students was selected to be part of the Honour Society of his school for the first time in his student life. He was diagnosed with some conditions since his early years and needed special help with Maths, English & Science.
