About Amy-Rose

After spending a year studying History at Queen Mary University of London, I transferred to King’s College London to study Geography. So I have good breadth and depth of knowledge in both subjects. Upon completion of my Geography degree, I plan on going into teaching. Getting to know students, building a rapport, planning activities, sharing my knowledge, helping to understand tricky concepts and seeing progress is incredibly rewarding. Further, I firmly believe that no student should ever be prevented from reaching their full academic potential because of circumstances outside their control, difficulties in understanding challenging concepts or lack of access to affordable academic support. Hence seeking to provide high-level tutoring at an affordable price.

Having faced significant adversities throughout my studies, from a difficult home life to multiple chronic illnesses and surgeries, I am acutely aware of the additional challenges some students face. I received personal tutoring myself to supplement lost learning, so I know how important tutoring can be. As someone with autism, I am also very aware of the challenges neurodivergent students, so I will always ask if there is anything I can do to help you feel more comfortable or aid understanding. My approach to tutoring is dynamic as I recognise that every student has their own unique way of learning. If something doesn’t work, I will adapt to suit your needs.

I produce most of my own resources and will always offer to email PowerPoints or Word documents across after the lesson, so that you have access to them going forwards.

I have experience as a volunteer primary school teaching assistant, secondary-level student mentor and as a paid A-Level tutor.

About the lesson

Lesson times range from 45-60 minutes, with the option for longer upon enquiry. Any age or level, up to and including A-Level are welcome. Lessons will be tailored to individuals to suit a range of needs. I look forward to hearing from you!

The first free lesson with Amy-Rose will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

I offer the first lesson (up to 1hr) for free as I use introductory sessions as an opportunity to get to know you, which subjects you are studying, which areas you would like support with the most and what you want to gain from tutoring.
Subsequent sessions will charged at £15 per hour for GCSE tuition and £20 per hour for A-Level.
