About the lesson
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach academic music, music theory for ABRSM grade system, double bass, cello, viola and violin.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I am currently studying at the Royal College of Music. I hold A Level and GCSE music and I was a student of the highly acclaimed Hampshire Specialist Music Course at Peter Symonds, Winchester before I relocated to London.
- How much do you charge?
I see your first lesson as a consultation lesson, for which the fee will be half of the usual price. If I need to travel outside of London zone 3 to get to you then I charge £5 extra to cover my travel expenses and travelling time, although this may vary depending on where you are!
- Where do you teach?
I prefer to travel to my students and will travel anywhere within London zones 1-3 although I will also teach outside this area if travelling expenses can be agreed.
- When are you available?
I am available to tutor academic and theory students on weekday evenings or Saturday morning, and I will teach instrumental students any time between 12 and 5 Monday to Saturday excluding Thursdays, although I am willing to discuss alternative times if these do not suit you.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy to teach anyone from school age upwards. I hold certifications in GCSE and A Level music and I have grade 5 theory with distinction. I teach beginner to intermediate violin and viola, beginner cello and beginner to advanced double bass.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I am happy to teach theory and academic work online, through sending exercises via email if the student has a compatible notation software. I have prepared lessons which can be sent as documents to the student with assignments to be emailed back to me for marking and feedback. These are only rough guidelines as I tailor my teaching to suit the student, so please do get in touch if you'd like to discuss online learning.
