About Richard

I was a lecturer in Business Studies for 16 years and I now teach part time at a college alongside running my own business. This means that I can bring practical experience of business into my teaching and not just academic theory. I have a BA Honours degree in History and Politics and an MBA.

I always tailor my teaching style to fit in with the ways in which the students learn best. In the first instance I will have a meeting with the student and their parents or guardians if appropriate to find out as much as I can about their learning styles as well as their interests and then plan a tutoring programme with activities around that. We will identify a set of goals at that meeting and then review progress in meeting them on a regular basis. When the student's main goal is to prepare for exams the focus will be on practice questions. This will be done jointly with myself at the sessions themselves and also set as homework tasks for the student and then reviewed at the subsequent session.
