The technique that I use is very visual. I have found that over the years, it is easier to understand complex systems and mechanisms through the use of animation where possible, that help students see what's going on rather than trying imagine it.
My lesson structure comprises of the student notifying me of a topic they find difficult 2 days before the lesson. I like to end the lessons with a pop quiz were the student answers three questions from that or previous lessons to reinforce learning.
