Hi all! My name is Francesca and I am Italian.

Do you want to learn or improve your level of Italian through online classes?
No problem, more than 200 students have studied with me and have learned while having fun. I started teaching at the age of 19 and I have more than 10 years of experience, both in Italy and abroad.

In January 2018 I started teaching classes on Skype. I work at different levels, and there is never a lack of conversation on different topics, readings, writing, dictations, grammar and games.

My classes are all in Italian (from day one) and I only use other languages to clarify doubts. My students value this aspect very much because they can listen to a native teacher and live the experience in 100% Italian.

I also teach Italian for travelers and business Italian over the phone.

In addition, I prepare students to obtain official linguistic certificates (CELI, PLIDA, CILS).

I always prepare personalized material. Personalized monitoring of students.

All levels: A1-C2

Feel free to contact me for additional information.

Learn more about Francesca

  • Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

Italian is my mother tongue. When I was a child, in elementary school, I started to take an interest in Italian grammar. I remember that I always raised my hand to answer the Italian teacher's questions.
  • Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

Dante Alighieri because in the Middle Ages he wrote a work, the Commedia, which even after centuries is able to shine and move. Art, in its various aspects, and cuisine with its gastronomic variety are a faithful representation of my culture.
  • Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

I spoke about Dante, art and cooking ... I chose the third. A margherita pizza is the symbol of Italy: green basil, white mozzarella and red tomato.
  • Why does speaking this language matter to you?

Italian is a language of culture. Although not spoken in many countries, it has extraordinary richness and can be used for travel, work and reconnection with roots. In fact, a lot of students want to learn Italian so that they can speak the language of their grandparents or one of their parents, it seems very pleasant to me.
  • What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

One of the main difficulties is grammar. I like to help students with fun activities, games and exercises so that these difficulties become an exciting challenge.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

I started teaching many years ago, my first students were my stuffed animals and I corrected their homework with a red pen. I always tell this anecdote because it seems sweet to me and it speaks a lot about me and my passion for teaching
  • How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

For me, travel is like fresh air. I was born in Liguria, I grew up in Emilia, my parents are from southern Italy and I have lived in Tuscany. Travelling is a passion that also allows me to speak other languages. If I think of a particular trip, I think of Sardinia, where I saw the most beautiful color of the sea.
  • What makes you a Superprof in language?

I think no one in this world can claim to know a language perfectly, since each language is a world so full of nuances that they vary while still being alive. What makes me a Superprof are three ingredients: passion, dedication and empathy.
