My main teaching methodology is to teach in such a way as to engage students and get them interested and curious in learning new Mathematical concepts and ideas as well as training them in how to approach a Mathematical problem. I believe this interest is needed in order to achieve great success in exams.
I am currently a postgraduate researcher in the School of Mathematics at Trinity College Dublin. I have a long history of teaching and tutoring Mathematics beginning in 2015 when I started my undergraduate degree in Mathematical Sciences at the University Of Limerick. Since then I have taught Maths to students of all levels and backgrounds through various paid and volunteer opportunities.
I am a highly experienced Mathematics tutor with a passion for Mathematics education. I enjoy helping students learn Mathematics and place a particular emphasis on helping students appreciate and enjoy learning new Mathematical concepts.
September 2020-present Teaching Assistant, School of Mathematics, Trinity College Dublin
I am currently a teaching assistant in the School of Mathematics at Trinity College Dublin. This role involved holding tutorials for modules in the School of Mathematics and offering students the opportunity to ask questions and get help on their current assignments. I have been a TA for a module titled “Numerical Methods for High-Performance Computing”, which is a postgraduate module for the students of the MSc in HPC.
I have given Maths grinds to numerous students at undergraduate level from a range of courses who had to complete Maths modules as part of their degrees but who may not have been majoring in Maths.
I also worked on the University of Limerick Homework club from
January 2017-May 2017. This was a service whereby junior and leaving cert students from different schools around Limerick came to UL to get help with their Maths homework one evening a week.
2019-2020 M.Sc High Performance Computing (Distinction), Trinity College Dublin
2015-2019 B.Sc Mathematical Sciences (First Class), University Of Limerick
