About Destini
I have been tutoring and giving lessons for the past 10 years, and I really enjoy doing so.
EXPERIENCE
SCOLIOSIS RECOVERY AUGUST 2019-MAY 2020 · Worked with a licensed Chiropractor to help restore needed motion in scoliosis patients.
· Improving equipment in Pettibone System
· A new design to correct the thoracic curve is in the process of being created and tested.
NATIONAL SOCIETY OF BLACK ENGINEERS- SEEK PROGRAM JUNE 2019-AUGUST 2019 · Taught children 3rd-5th grade about the fundamentals of engineering
· Encouraged students to participate in STEM programs for the future
· I was able to increase the engineering knowledge of elementary students, creating a mentality for them to pursue engineering.
MYOGLOBIN IMPACT RESEARCH JANUARY 2019-MAY 2019 · Tested the impact of Myoglobin on the heart by using MATLAB coding to mimic the flow of Myoglobin chemical gates using the Hodgkin-Huxley method. · Compared Heart Rate with Myoglobin using heart monitor ran by homemade MATLAB code
· Myoglobin is a protein that is only known to be tested by blood. As a student I was able to find out the way it flows throughout the body with a visual graph produced in MATLAB
POWER GENERATION OF CHEMICALS AUGUST 2018-MAY 2019 · This research is used to determine which kind of chemicals could be used to generate power without having an effect on the environment · Requires students in the field of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering
· Organic chemicals found through NCBI were discovered and ordered to test with vine plants to see the effects done towards carbon dioxide in order to be used for power generation. The research was not as successful as expected.
RESIDENT ADVISOR MAY 2016- MAY 2017 · Assisted colleagues while living in campus dormitories
· Provided a safe environment both physically and emotionally for residents
· I was able to develop leadership, responsibility and different ways to successfully manage a group with mature communication and interactions.
