About Ronan

Trust me when I say that I can relate to the struggles and pressures students face in the LC. For the JC, I began studying after Christmas in 2nd year. I studied 4 hours per day. All I did for a whole year was focus on the JC.
The result? I got 2A's, some B's and some C's. It wasn't bad, but wasn't what I, or any of my teachers expected of me.
I quickly learned the lesson that more study ≠ better grades. Instead of listening to the same dull general-advice all over again, I took responsibility for my learning and worked towards a much more well-rounded approach. As described below, I identified 4 key areas to LC success and optimised each of them in accordance with my personal needs.
The result? 100% in Maths, 100% in Physics, 99% in DCG 98% in Applied Maths, 96% in German, 91% in English, 89% in PE and 86% in Irish – 625 points and 8A's.
I now have experience teaching JC, LC and University students the methods that helped me 4x my A's. I take each student as they come, and work with their unique interests to help them achieve more success, with less study.

About the lesson

In learning to improve my study, I identified 4 core areas that are crucial for LC success. Together, these areas complete my 'Taught to Learn' course;

1) Study routine
Do you struggle to create a study-plan that you can actually stick to? No, that you want to stick to? Reduce your study-time by 50% with a routine that suits you. As well as this, you'll learn to eliminate procrastination from your days.

2) Study methods
Do you sometimes feel like you forget all the information the next day? Squeeze the most our of your school- and study-time with effective study methods, tailored to each subject and individual.

3) Enjoyment
At best, you like some subjects, and put up with others. Am I right? Learn the various approaches to studying, and find one that suits your personality type. Approach each subject differently and you can enjoy each subject for different reasons! I'm a big believer in enjoying the work you do, how else can you be expected to do it week-in-week-out?

4)Science of learning
Do you often feel especially tired after school, only to be fully awake later on? While a scientific approach is maintained throughout, here we'll have a look at your typical day, and typical moods. Backed by studies, we'll find the ideal times of the day for you to study, and not to do study. *Hint: straight after school is usually a bad idea*. As well as this, we'll use modern science to increase the quality of both your learning and relaxation.

That's the TTL course. In the interest of the students' studies, the entire course can typically be completed in 8 - 10 40-min lessons, so as not to interfere with ordinary learning. Prices are €25 per lesson, with the introductory lesson free-of-charge.
I do also offer another type of lesson whereby the student simply presents a unique issue, and we work to resolve it. Naturally, this course of lessons can take as long as a piece of string. However, once the problem(s) is solved the student is given a maintenance program and lessons stop.

All my students (and previous students) have around-the-clock contact with me via Whatsapp. Lessons are conducted online, as the entire TTL course is built on MS Word and PowerPt. For more information please check my instagram @taughttolearn
