About Tahir

My name is Tahir, I'm based in London and I LOVE language - how it works, why it works, and how we use it! Learning Spanish helped me improve my understanding and use of English - my native language - and that set off my bond with Spanish and appreciation for learning multiple languages.

My native language is English, I speak Urdu at home, I've studied Spanish at university level (and lived in Spain!), and I've started learning Arabic.

I'm a BA Spanish and Linguistics graduate working my way into secondary teaching - plan to be laughing at French memes in the near future as well :)

I spent a year working as an English Language Assistant in a high school in Valencia, Spain. This year abroad was also spent tutoring native Spanish school students in learning and practicing English.

I've also spent a year gaining experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school in London and have loved every bit of time I've spent helping students up-level their Spanish - can't tell you the number of times I've heard "Why don't you just become a Spanish teacher?" - I'm working on it!!

About the lesson

Hola!

The first lesson - which is free, by the way - will give us a chance to discuss learning goals, as well as get an understanding of personal strengths and weaknesses.

After this initial session I will understand how to tailor lessons to reach your goals, whether that's through a focussed approach on a specified area of speech and language, or through lessons which hit multiple aspects of learning the language.

I'm a Spanish and Linguistics graduate from London, and have spent a year working as an English Language Assistant in a high school in Valencia, Spain. This year abroad was also spent tutoring native Spanish school students in learning and practicing English. It's given me a valuable perspective of the learning process from both sides of the language - especially for English speakers learning Spanish and students learning Spanish at all levels of education (KS3, GSCE, A-Level, Undergraduate).

One of my favourite things when I was learning Spanish was how fun my teachers were able to make it all - they were able to make a game for every aspect of the learning process and I could immediately understand why - completely changed the way I understood the teaching + learning process!

These lessons will be great for anyone wanting to start learning Spanish, prepare for upcoming exams, sharpen up their skills, progress from their current level, gain confidence - or, even just try a different style of learning the language!
