About Rachelle
My name is half French and half English! I'm Rachelle Barrett. And I'm half Haitian, half Jamaican, born and raised in Montréal, Quebec. Bilingual since I was able to speak, and moved to the U.S. as a teenager, I've garnered a lot of unique life experiences over the years. I've traveled to many countries, beginning as just a toddler. And I believe the life I lived is why I eventually gravitated towards a foreign affairs and journalism degree at uni, where I've been writing for publications in English and French ever since! I'm 26 years young, and I hope there comes a day where I can take my writing to executive levels, professionally. But in the meantime, teaching others couldn't hurt, right? I'm at your service!

Learning French in school can make someone sound so robotic. I teach conversational French! As a native French speaker, a current news writer, and French/English tutor, I have the skills necessary to introduce fun ways for adults to learn conversational French. I believe that to know how to speak is to know how to read, and to know how to read - well, it always helps to know French vocabulary. So I start there. Once you can pronounce words based on recognition, you're already one step closer at becoming a French pro! And who says learning a new language has to be boring? I implement music, film, and environmental learning tools in my lesson plan! Plus, everything I teach you keep! I have a pdf file lesson plan available and free to download upon sign-up!
