Struggling to hit your personal and work related goals? Working with a career coach, could be just what you need.

Methodology

Through open discussion, I will help you develop a plan of action to help you achieve your goals, be they work related or personal. Session length depends on the goal and your personal preference. We can use video conferencing or simply talk over the phone.

Experience

With over 30 years experience working in a variety of organisations, one of my biggest passions is helping people to achieve their work and personal goals. Originally from Dublin, I have spent most of my working life outside Ireland and have recently returned and now live in County Cork. Now focused on establishing a small consultancy business with my wife, I am studying to become an ILM7 certified executive coach.

● At Travis Perkins (UK), developed the marketing strategies for development of retail & trade stores, from 76 in Q1 2014 to 235 in Q1-2018 as well as the development and implementation of a digital strategy including new online presence & end-to-end new lead generation programme which generated Β£500k of sales in the first year (investment of Β£12,500) as well as the introduction of a customer retention programme to increase referral business.

● At Office Depot EMEA, led the introduction of new furniture brand which achieved 80% share in the first year, as well as the rebranding of private label printing supplies programme which increased brand penetration from 11% to 26% in the first year.
● At Office Depot EMEA, proven track record of identifying and implementing significant cost and expenditure savings (e.g. Individually achieved expenditure savings of $7m and supplier rebates of $1.8m by launching and implementing a Consumables Price Optimisation Project throughout Europe)
● At both, Office Depot & Travis Perkins, achieved recognition awards for strong leadership on change management, energising and inspiring others to continuous self-improvement.

Office Depot Europe, The Netherlands 2019 - 2020
Office Depot Europe operates in thirteen countries through its two main brands Office Depot and Viking, with retail stores in France and Sweden. Office Depot serves workplace needs through a broad assortrment of office supplies, technology products, business machines, printing supplies, facilities products and furniture.

European Project Manager Online Assortment Expansion (Contract)
Achievements included:
● Led the European Technology Scrum Team
● Defined strategy and secured alignment of European senior management team, suppliers & other functions.
● Led communication with IT teams for the integration of drop-ship assortment with Office Depot & suppliers’ systems.
● Identified key customer segments, defined value proposition and improved online customer experience (UX) based on persona profiles and relevance, increasing traffic to website and improving PPC ROI.
● Drove incremental €600k sales in 7 months, identifying and introducing new online assortment on a drop shipment basis direct from suppliers to B2B & B2C customers

Responsibilities and achievements included: -
● Identify and contact companies (SME and others) suitable for R&D collaboration in international projects.
● Project management for UK/Irish project members. That includes calculations, writing proposals, presentations in coordination with European lead PM.
● Project management for investments in UK / Ireland of mainland Europe based organisations.
● Brexit preparation: contact and assist companies who want to setup business in continental Europe (US, Asian and UK based enterprises). Service: grants for sites and machinery, R&D funding plus headhunting. (project was put on hold due to Brexit negotiations).

Responsibilities and achievements included: -
● Appointed to lead the ambitious growth plans for the Bathroom Showroom Brand reporting into the Managing Director with full responsibility for Marketing & Communications, CRM (customer acquisition &
● retention programs), New Business Development and profitable growth of products by implementing a Category Management approach.
● Led and directed the Showroom Channel team which included: marketing manager and assistant, business development manager, category manager and branch display manager. Provided strategic direction, delegating work effectively and managing and motivating team members to develop and achieve defined goals.
● Managed stakeholders effectively, developed excellent relationships across functions.
● Drove bi-annual review processes, including remerchandising of retail showrooms (merchandise planning, POS materials), catalogue production and website update.
● Developed and rolled out a new two-tier rewards program designed to increase referral business and reward installer loyalty.

● Led the development the own brand strategy for furniture, including road map for new brand/product launches as well as communication strategies leading to an 80% share of sales for office seating and related categories
● Led a multicultural team of circa 20 direct and in direct reports based in the Netherlands and across 8 European offices
