Professor Dranowski is such an understanding and kind professor and consistently engages her students in a form that maximizes both their level of understanding and practice in a student's computational skills.
Anne was my TA for my first introduction to abstract algebra as an undergraduate at the University of Toronto. She was a fantastic teacher and through her guidance I was able to learn a lot about topics I previously found very difficult. In large part because of Anne's instruction, I became passionate enough about this subject to pursue an undergraduate research project in this field. Anne knew so much more about this field than me, but was always very generous with her time and served as a mentor for me even after the abstract algebra course ended as I pursued this research project. It was because of her support (and her very strong skillset) that I was able to complete the project, which was my first taste of pure math research. I went on to get my PhD in math and to become a pure mathematician, and I will always remember the part Anne played not only in my learning but in my career choices. Later, I was lucky enough to write a research paper in collaboration with Anne, which was yet another great experience working alongside her!
Professor Dranowski is one of the kindest teachers I have had at time in university. Speaking from my experience in an introductory calculus class, she has not only taught, but more importantly, has hugely been with me throughout my journey in the semester. Truthfully speaking, I was having an incredibly difficult time and was at times sure I wasn't going to perform well. However, Professor Dranowski was always open, and no matter how discouraged I felt when I was falling, she never once made me feel ashamed. Rather, she gave me the opportunity and time to re-learn from my mistakes, something that I feel strongly that every professor should have, as advocacy is what makes great teaching. All in all, Professor Dranowski is there when you aren’t sure if you can make it through, and for that, I am very grateful for all the help she has given me.
Anna was my Multivariable Calculus professor and I have nothing but praise for her. Her lectures were obviously thoughtfully prepared and she was always open to questions. During office hours she was very welcoming and patient.
I first met Anne at USC, where she was my math professor and mentor throughout my undergraduate studies. She has an amazing ability to explain difficult concepts with patience and clarity, making even tough topics feel approachable. Her kindness and genuine encouragement helped me build lasting confidence in math. Anne truly cares about her students and always goes the extra mile to support their learning, consistently taking the time to ensure everyone understands the material. She has an infectious passion for teaching, and her classes were always a welcoming and motivating environment. I'm now pursuing a PhD in mathematics, something which I attribute largely to her mentorship and unwavering support.
I had Anne for Calculus I at USC. It was my first semester of freshman year and she made it a positive experience despite the challenging material. Anne was engaging and approachable in and out of class. She is one of my favorite professors and we continue to stay in touch.
She is great at diving into the specifics of the material she teaches but most importantly, she cares deeply for her students. Great Professor!
Anne is one of the most supportive and engaging math instructors I’ve had. I would 100% recommend her to anybody looking for a tutor who not only teaches well, but also truly cares about your learning journey.
She explains concepts clearly, is incredibly patient, and genuinely cares about the success of her students. I always felt encouraged to ask questions, and she had a great way of connecting math to real-world examples. Even when I struggled, she never made me feel behind—just supported. I’d highly recommend her as a tutor to anyone looking to build both confidence and competence in math.Anne was my professor for Calc 3, and she evidently possessed a deep understanding of each topic, straightforward and complex. Beyond her abundance of knowledge and suggestions for helpful resources, Anne's kindness and calm professionalism supports each of students.
Professor Dranowski is an amazing teacher to have. She truly does care about her students and wants to set them up for success. She always was available for extra help and was a very understanding professor. As a student, I could tell she is really passionate about her teaching. Overall, she is a great professor and amazing teacher!
I have known Anne Dranowski as an enthusiastic teacher and additionally, an accomplished researcher. I got to know Anne when she was a post-doc at USC Math where she took the initiative to teach two very interesting summer courses. Her style is very unassuming and she is very approachable. As a PhD student in an adjacent area, I was happy to have the opportunity to talk to her. She has always been very encouraging and our interactions always left me thinking we should interact more. In conclusion, I think it would be great for anyone to have the opportunity to learn from Anne.
I had the pleasure of learning from Anne Dranowski in Calculus 3, and she made complex topics like multivariable calculus clear and approachable. Her teaching style is patient, organized, and adaptable to different learning styles. I always felt supported and encouraged to ask questions. I highly recommend Anne to anyone on Superprof looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated math tutor.
Anne was my statistics professor at USC. I've never been the greatest with numbers, but she really helped me conceptualize the content. She is also super kind and approachable, and I knew I could always reach out if I had questions. She made statistics enjoyable, and I'd recommend her as a professor!
Amazing professor, absolutely brilliant and understands mathematics better than anyone I have ever studied under. Will help you through any problem and has very intuitive ways of explaining both simple and challenging mathematical concepts.
I enjoyed having Anne as my mentor for the Yulia’s Dream research program! I always dreamt of doing real research one day but didn’t even imagine that an 11th grader could do it. You showed me that with enough dedication, perseverance, and collaboration, it can be done. When we got the first results, you taught me to be skeptical, thoroughly check everything, and methodologically go deeper into the subject. You demonstrated what it truly means to be a professional researcher and taught me a lot of complementary skills, such as using LaTeX and doing complex calculations with CoCalc. Thank you, Anne, for teaching me so many valuable skills and for believing in me!
Professor Dranowski is the math tutor you wish to have in college. She is passionate about math, brilliant, and patient. She can always bridge abstract concepts with real-world applications, solve problems step by step, and teach both high-level and low-level math courses at USC. You can definitely trust Professor Dranowski's professionalism and personality!
I TAed for Anne, for the MATH407 “probability theory” class.
Of course, as a mathematician, she is qualified for the job. Beyond that, she also proves to be a very creative teacher throughout course preparations such as assignments and exams.
At the same time, the student comments that she is an attentive and nice professor to work with. As a TA, I also felt it was a pleasure working with her.
Overall, I think Anne is an awesome math educator from my experience working with her.Among the mathematicians I’ve learned from and worked with, Dr. Dranowski stands out for her combination of genuine care and intellectual rigor. She’s deeply knowledgeable in pure mathematics, applied math, and data science. I took her abstract algebra course—her primary research area—and appreciated her clear explanations and thoughtful examples. What impressed me even more was how she engaged with my gerrymandering research, drawing on relevant literature to offer constructive feedback. More importantly, Dr. Dranowski doesn’t just teach the material; she invests in her students’ development as researchers. Specifically, she encouraged me to dive into both core texts and supplementary readings so that I truly understand each concept, which has fundamentally changed my habits of approaching new quantitatively-driven materials.
Professor Anne is an excellent statistics instructor! She explains complex concepts clearly, is always patient with questions, and genuinely cares about our understanding. Her teaching style is engaging and supportive, making statistics much more approachable. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and encouraging tutor!
Professor Dransowski is an inspiring and caring educator who truly wants her students to succeed. As someone who has always struggled with math, I was nervous about taking Calculus. However, having Professor Dransowski as my instructor made all the difference. She consistently showed patience, dedication, and genuine support.
She met with me weekly during office hours to review questions, explain difficult concepts, and help me build confidence in my abilities. Her encouragement and willingness to invest time in my success helped me overcome challenges I didn’t think I could.
I always leave her classes feeling motivated and more capable. I'm incredibly grateful for her guidance and the positive impact she’s had on my academic journey.
