About Imogen
I am a History of Art student at the University of Nottingham. I frequently proofread and edit my friend's essays which is something I really enjoy. For my A-Levels, I took History, English Literature and Religious Studies and I draw upon each of these for my current degree. In terms of my background, I have been a Senior Mentor for 3 consecutive years so I have a lot of experience helping young people aged 15-17 learn and develop (without being patronising). My father is also an A Level English teacher so I have grown up around it!

Both my parents are teachers and the best thing I have learnt from them is that creating a relaxed, fun, 'just have a go' environment is much more conducive to both learning and retaining information. I am personally pretty bad at maths and know first-hand that teachers applying extra pressure can make you feel overwhelmed and embarrassed. My methods would depend on the subject being taught, but my main focus would be to ensure that the student knows I am only here to help and never to judge or ridicule.
