About Brian
Hi, I’m Brian - an actor and writer with over 14 years of experience in the industry, passionate about helping stories reach their fullest potential. I trained as an actor at LAMDA after earning a degree in English Literature and Drama Studies from Trinity College, Dublin. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working on some of the UK’s most iconic stages, including the West End, the National Theatre, the RSC, and Shakespeare’s Globe.
As a writer, my short film 'The Cocaine Famine' has screened at over 50 festivals worldwide, picking up 7 awards and 10 nominations along the way. It currently has an 8.9 star rating on IMDb, and can be watched online for free at (concealed information). I understand the creative process from both sides of the page — and I know how powerful a well-structured script can be. I bring that same insight and care into my one-to-one sessions with writers.
I love helping others shape their scripts into the best, most compelling version of what they want to say — with clarity, confidence, and craft. Whether you’re just starting out or refining a near-finished draft, I offer a collaborative, constructive space where your voice stays central and your story finds its strongest form.

In our one-to-one session, my goal is to meet you exactly where you are in your writing journey and help shape your script into the strongest, clearest version of itself. Whether you’re just starting out or deep into a draft that needs reshaping, we’ll work together in a supportive, relaxed environment to unlock your story’s full potential. Here’s what you can expect:
A Friendly, Collaborative Chat
Think of our session more like a creative conversation than a lecture. I’ll start by asking about your script—what it’s about, what inspired it, where you’re feeling stuck or unsure. This helps me understand your goals and voice so I can tailor my feedback to what you want to say.
Structure Without the Stress
I’ll gently guide you through core structural principles—like story arcs, character development, pacing, and stakes—without overwhelming jargon. Together, we’ll look at what’s working in your script and what might need adjusting, always with an eye towards keeping your unique voice intact.
Practical, Actionable Advice
You’ll leave the session with concrete next steps—ideas you can apply immediately, whether it’s tightening your opening, clarifying a character’s motivation, or rethinking your ending. I’ll also recommend tools or exercises that suit your writing style.
Encouragement & Empowerment
Writing is personal, and it’s brave to share your work. I make it a point to be both honest and kind—highlighting strengths as well as areas to grow. My goal is for you to leave our session feeling more confident and excited about your story.
Whether you’re writing a short film, a play, or a full-length screenplay, this session is all about helping you bring your story to life in the most compelling way possible.

I have worked with Brian many times in the past 15 years and he has been one of the most passionate, dedicated, hard-working and inspirational writers I’ve had the pleasure of working with. He has that rare talent of having access to both comedy and drama - the silly and the profound - and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who was thinking of working with him!
I am a writer and director in film and commercials, and can say with absolute certainty that you NEED Brian as your screenwriting tutor. Honestly. As a screenwriter, Brian excels at crafting compelling narratives with well-developed characters and impactful dialogue. He has a strong understanding of cinematic structure, pacing, and visual storytelling. It means his work says something important, but often manages to make you laugh while doing it.
My main collaboration with Brian was in adapting his short play The Cocaine Famine into an award-winning short film of the same name. Successfully translating a play involves more than simply filming dialogue; it requires reimagining the story for a visual medium, often involving significant changes to pacing, setting, and even character focus to fully utilize the language of cinema. Brian's ability to take his original theatrical work and reshape it into a successful film demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of both forms and the intricacies of adaptation.
Beyond his screenwriting talent, Brian possesses the qualities of an effective tutor. Throughout our collaboration, he demonstrated an ability to articulate his creative decisions clearly. He has a patient and encouraging approach, creating a perfect environment for creative exploration. I've also observed his enthusiasm for discussing story principles and his genuine interest in helping others develop their writing skills. His direct experience in adapting his own play for the screen gives him a valuable perspective to share with students on the process of transforming ideas across different mediums. I am confident that Brian's blend of practical screenwriting experience and his natural aptitude for mentorship would make him an invaluable asset as a screenwriting tutor.Brian was incredibly supportive & helpful during the workshop I held for my screenplay. He assisted me with the deep dive into the story and his positive ideas enriched the storyline so much. I’m forever grateful for his work on it.
I have known Brian for over 10 years and would absolutely recommend him as a scriptwriting tutor. We originally met through acting, and I have since been lucky enough to work on one of his TV scripts - some of the best series writing I've ever read - and he has also given me honest, practical and invaluable advice on a script of mine. He knows the industry, he knows the theory, he knows good writing and how to help make your script the best it can be.
Simply the Best!
I’d been stuck in a creative rut with a writing project for quite some time until I met the brilliant Brian. His high expertise, vast experience, and thoughtful, tailored guidance completely unlocked my work immediately!
Brian is not only an incredibly skilled and insightful tutor - I have learnt so much from him - but he is also kind, compassionate, fun and encouraging. His passion for storytelling and screenwriting is truly inspiring, and I couldn’t be more grateful to him for helping me bring my story to life!
I’ll absolutely be working with him again!I cannot recommend Brian highly enough! He brought refreshingly astute ideas to all our sessions as I worked on my first TV pilot. He was brilliantly supportive & made the solo nature of writing far more inspiring & enjoyable. It was an invaluable process as being a writer himself, Brian was able to relate and deeply empathise with all the challenges of TV script writing - his wisdom, encouragement, humour and warmth really kept me on track through all the wobbly moments of self doubt! Brian balances practical tips with a thoughtful personal approach which really helps unlock your writing voice . It enabled me to be bolder, braver and more playful with my creative process. Looking forward to working with him again on my next script!
