About Sbusisiwe
I’m an education in one of SA’s best colleges. My love for teaching comes from the joy it brings me to be able to help shape and grow the kinds of future generations. This is my first time applying to be a tutor, not because I doubted my abilities before. However, I have been working on the confidence and learning more about being an effective teacher and finding the methodology that best works for me and my learners. More than anything, I believe that punctuality is a sign of good manners and respect for your work and the other person. Furthermore, I appreciate active participation. This assures me as the teacher/tutor that my learner(s) are present in the lesson and engagement brings forth further understanding. It is therefore my duty as a teacher to ensure that I provide a space where the learner feels comfortable and confident enough to ask questions, give opinions and even fix educator mistakes because like anyone else we will make mistakes along the way.

As an aspiring educator, I believe that with each student comes different levels of cognitive skills and understanding. Therefore to use a blanket method for each student would be an injustice, not only to the learner but to the effectiveness of methods used to teach. For this reason, being in a lesson with me would mean that I have to learn the root cause of the difficulties are faced by the learner to be able to help them grasp concepts better. My lessons are not only learner centred, they also aim to leave a mark that encourages learners to always tackle what they deem difficult as challenges to make them better at whatever subjects that before.
