About Helen
Uniquely qualified Speech and Language Therapist Featured by the BBC News on TV and National Radio. Following a Successful Career in the NHS I lectured at all levels and course types on every aspect of human communication - including specialism in multiple disabilities and sensory impairment, Autism and Dementia. Guest speaker at international conferences on Communication specifically Alternative and Augmentative communication. Course tutor at postgraduate level. Guest editor for the British Journal of Learning Disability. Seconded to MBA equivalent Leadership course at the Kings Fund and trained facilitator by the NHS Modernisation Agency. Advocate of evidence-based practice and a scientific method of learning in all aspects of Elocution

My approach is non-commercial and based on evidence. I use a range of different methods depending on needs. Multi-modal teaching and the use of different media all help. Details
After a couple of assessment sessions I can estimate how many hours of teaching will be required. Often input is best intensively at first then as students become more confident and skilled the frequency can be reduced - The more homework my students do the better the cost!!
