About Wallea

I am an experienced sociologist, author, and book publisher from Queensland, Australia. Five years ago, I started an online publication and began working with writers from around the world to publish their work. Four years ago, I founded my own micro-publishing company where I have published many books, both creative, scholarly, and everything in between. In 2024 I was shortlisted for the Queensland Premier's Young Publisher of the Year award. As an author, I know what it's like to go through an intense creative process. It can be isolating, confusing, and downright hard. As a publisher, I know what is needed to make a beautiful book that people want to read. I am passionate about teaching and learning, and inspiring everyone to write their own stories, no matter what their skill level or previous experience.

About the lesson

I tailor my classes specifically to you, where you're at, and your writing goals. We will have an initial consultation and I will come up with an outline to get you where you want to be. Then, each lesson, we will set realistic goals and work to achieve them within the hour.

I am a strengths-based teacher, working with what you're good at and building you up where you need extra help. I am encouraging, patient, kind, and firm. I will ensure we stay realistic with our expectations and that, wherever necessary, we work to deadlines.

I have worked with over 200 writers over the past five years. Ranging from personal essays, to autoethnographic and scholarly essays, to think-pieces, blogs, letters, poems, short stories, novels, books, and more.

I can help with ideation, planning, preparation, as well as writing, editing, and preparing for publication. Every stage of the journey is covered when we work together, from the most simple of steps to the most complex and difficult. I've got you covered, and together we will make a great team.
