Every semester I receive comments from my students about how they didn't think they could like the subject or didn't think they were capable of succeeding, but my enthusiasm and dedication to their success really helped them. As a passionate educator with a PhD in History from the University of New Hampshire. I have dedicated my career to fostering a deep understanding of literature and historical contexts. With over 2 years of tutoring experience and more than 20 years in the classroom, I specialize in AP English and History subjects, guiding students through complex material with engaging, interactive methodologies. My teaching philosophy centers on active participation, encouraging students to connect with the material through discussion and exploration of diverse modalities, including visual art and primary sources. I am committed to helping students develop their writing skills, from thesis construction to proper citation styles. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy creating educational content, including short-form video essays on historical topics, which reflects my enthusiasm for making learning accessible to all. Ultimately, my goal is to illuminate the relevance of history and literature in students' lives, ensuring they leave with a profound appreciation for these subjects.
