About Brian
Brian Barton: studied in St Petersburg Conservatory Russia with a post Grad. Certificate. I have a BA (Hons. 1st Class in Music Performance), Fellow of the London College of Music (FLCM Comp); L MusLCM (Theory), Dip VCM (Piano), FNCM and LLCM (Music Literature). I have taught in China in the Normal University in Hohhot Music Department: composition, music theory and music appreciation classes. Likewise I taught in Ulaan Bataar in the Mongolian International University music appreciation classes. In my travels I also taught TEFL English classes, and coincidentally, produced a book for Chinese music students with 65 Lessons for 'English with Music' covering the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and early modern periods. Now used in many Chinese University Music departments.

Writing music is fun - no matter what level you arrive at. Yes the more you do the easier it gets! You need some music paper - and some theory knowledge. For paper we can use the platform Noteflight. If you play an instrument that's great, and it will be a help, for there you can try ideas out. We can start with Noteflight if you are a beginner, for more advanced we can use Finale or Dorico. If you need the basics in music theory we can teach you, if you are on your way to exams we can help you. If you want to write some film music - compose music for a sort cartoon we can help you. If you need some study texts we can recommend some. So let’s get started.
