About Michael
I am from the San Francisco Bay Area and have been teaching full-time at San Jose City College since 2000. I was hired to teach all levels of French but I eventually obtained a Reading Certificate which allowed me to teach Reading Comprehension courses (summary writing, main idea, supporting details, etc.)
I have a Master's Degree in French Language and Culture and I pass for French/Francophone with everyone I speak with.
I have lived in France for a total of two and a half years, working and playing.
I have extensive community college experience -- but I did teach high school once as well.

I think learning should be fun and engaging. Remote learning offers wonderful opportunities to take advantage of technology. I use Zoom and log into the meeting with a Smartboard which I can share with students! I also use many other online interactive activities as well as lecture and directed practice activities. I think the thing that makes my teaching unique is that I enjoy what I do and I want to spread that feeling to students.
