About Josh
I am an experienced and qualified (PGCE and QTS) music and music technology teacher based in North Yorkshire. As well as a PGCE in Secondary Music gained from the University of Sussex, I have а first-class degree (BA hons) and master’s degree (MA) in Sound Arts and Design. Alongside teaching and tutoring I am a freelance composer and sound engineer.

My teaching methodology is based on sound pedagogy gained through teacher training (PGCE) and continuous professional development whilst employed as an A-Level music technology teacher. I teach practically and methodically, with theory embedded in the practice of music making and production. I am organised and maintain high expectations that come from industry experience. Not only do I teach music and music technology skills, I teach professionalism and independence. Having taught a number of exam specifications (edexcel, OCR, AQA, RSL Music Practitioner) I am well versed in preparing students for their exams, by teaching secure exam techniques to enable students of all ability to succeed.
