About Graham
My saxophone lessons are designed to inspire and support students through every stage of their musical journey. I focus on building a strong foundation of fundamental skills, including breath control, tone production, and finger technique, which are essential for playing the saxophone well. Once these basics are in place, I introduce more advanced concepts such as phrasing, articulation, rhythm, and dynamics, which help students become more expressive and versatile musicians. I believe that music is a deeply personal experience, so I place a great emphasis on encouraging creativity and individuality. I incorporate improvisation exercises into lessons to help students develop their personal style and connect more deeply with the music. I also integrate real songs into my lessons, allowing students to apply their skills in a practical and enjoyable way. Every student is unique, so I tailor my lessons to their individual goals and learning preferences, providing clear guidance and regular constructive feedback. Whether students are preparing for an audition, an exam, or simply playing for pleasure, I aim to foster a sense of confidence, excitement, and accomplishment in every lesson.

Learning the saxophone should be an exciting journey, and I strive to make every lesson a step toward discovering the joy of music. I work with students of all skill levels, from those picking up the instrument for the first time to seasoned players looking to refine their technique. My teaching combines traditional saxophone methods with creative, personalized approaches to keep lessons engaging. I emphasize foundational skills such as breath control, tone production, and articulation, while also nurturing the creative side of playing through improvisation and learning how to play by ear. My lessons include practical exercises, play-alongs, and opportunities to explore various musical genres such as jazz, classical, and contemporary music. I pride myself on creating a comfortable environment where students can explore their potential and develop their unique musical voice, all while having fun and making progress.
