About Iris

Hi! I’m a violin tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Violin Performance. I love working with young children and making learning fun and engaging. I use playful, age-appropriate strategies like storytelling, rhythm games, and movement to help kids develop strong technique and musicianship. Simple melodies are a big part of my lessons, so children can enjoy playing right from the start. I draw inspiration from Suzuki and Kodály methods, which focus on listening, singing, and learning through play. These approaches help children build a solid foundation while keeping lessons light and joyful. I believe every child learns best when they feel inspired and excited about music. My goal is to make violin learning imaginative and full of wonder. I encourage creativity and confidence in every lesson. Seeing my students smile and grow in their musical journey is the best part of my job. Let’s make violin learning a happy adventure together!

About the lesson

My teaching approach to violin is focused on building strong fundamentals while encouraging creativity and confidence. I emphasize rhythm precision and ensemble skills, helping students play tightly with others and develop a deep sense of timing. Creative improvisation is an important part of my lessons, allowing students to explore their own musical voice beyond the classical repertoire. I guide students through a wide range of classical pieces, carefully developing technique and musical expression at every level. I understand the unique challenges students face when learning the violin, and I create a supportive, patient environment where they can grow at their own pace. Whether you are aiming to improve stage presence or overcome performance nerves, I provide tools to boost confidence and connect with your music emotionally. My lessons balance technical exercises with fun, inspiring pieces to keep motivation high. I also integrate listening and aural skills to enhance musical understanding and expression. Together, we work on posture, bowing, and finger placement to build a solid technique that lasts. My goal is to help you become a confident, expressive player who enjoys every step of the journey. I am dedicated to supporting your progress, whether you are performing solo or within an ensemble. Let’s make your violin playing rewarding, creative, and full of joy!
