About Jana
My name is Jana and I am a masters student in Classical Archaeology at Lincoln College, Oxford. I graduated with a First-Class BA in Classics from the University of Oxford in 2024 and received the Gibbs Prize for the best score by any Course 2 student. My BA was fully funded by the Reach Scholarship and I am an incoming fully-funded Ertegun Scholar. I also received prizes from Merton College for excellent results in Finals examinations, including the W. M. Edwards prize for the top scoring Classicist of the cohort. My research focuses on funerary archaeology and the experience of ancient women, but I am more widely interested in classical archaeology, anthropology and literature. I know 5 modern languages (English, Macedonian, Italian, Serbo-Croatian, Bulgarian) and am proficient in Ancient Greek and Latin, having scored First Class marks in all of my Finals language and literature papers.

I have been tutoring for more than a year and have experience working with students studying A-Levels and IB Subjects. I specialize in Classical Greek, Latin, Classical Civilisations and Archaeology. I have tutored students with their Oxbridge applications including personal statements, CAT preparation, mock interviews, with multiple students receiving offers in Classics from both Oxford and Cambridge. I have taught students working towards their Latin and Greek A-Level examinations as well. I am also able to aid students with their college choices and extra-curricular activities. I offer master-classes and 1-1 teaching on student-led topics within Classics. I am a volunteer at both the British Museum and the Ashmolean Museum (Oxford).
