About Elizabeth
Hello and 你好! I am a Taiwanese-Moroccan tutor from Los Angeles, California. I have experience and passion for ballet, swimming, tennis, playing classical music, cooking, reading and art. My favourite subject at school was History, and I love to explore different historical interpretations of periods of economic growth, war, and political conflict. I received an International Baccalaureate diploma, practice Mandarin and English fluently, understand beginner's French.

Language acquisition and mastery is best accomplished through a real world approach. That being said, my lessons typically begin with grammatical exercises (if student is looking to learn the English language) or literature annotation (if student is working on essay writing) and end with exercise of the skills they have acquired in context to their everyday lives. This is especially important to English learners, who will find learn much the language much faster when integrating areas of interest (movies, sports, etc) in their language learning. I typically work with primary school to final year A-level students. Being that I recently completed my IB diploma, I find that I can thoroughly guide A-level students first hand through successful essay writing, focusing both on sturdy structure/ delivery and professional language. Whether it be literary or rhetorical analysis, I can assure that proper format will be taught. Not only so students will copy and paste what they have learned in their exams, but also so the knowledge will be integrated and put to further use when beginning their higher education in university. Proper essays must all have proper grammar; I believe firmly in teaching the English language properly regardless of a pupil's skill. I also offer homework help for primary and secondary school students. This could be in whatever subjects are desired, but my knowledge is more expendable in Chemistry, English, Mandarin, and History. My help with Essay composition also extends to History, where when older students begin learning about how to introduce and support historical arguments regarding "cause and effect" "to what extent" and " Evaluate".
