About Jennifer

I have always been passionate about my subject and have always loved to teach. My focus therefore is to impart my enthusiasm in a way that is inspirational yet condusive with the ability of my student. My learning style is versatile and supportive and I love nothing more than to see my students achieve and develop and to see their confidence build.

Having worked in the school/classroom environment for more than 13 years, I am highly experienced and have taught across the different exam boards. I am therefore able to reassure my students that the tuition they receive from me is valid and completely in conjunction with what they need to be studying.

I have been commended by many parents for my supportive and thorough way of working. Lessons are always student led and are individually tailored to the exacting requirements of the tutee. The pace of the lesson is carefully considered and I am able to build in flexibility and a variety of activities so that the focus can shift as and when required - if appropriate.

As a teacher I am friendly, patient, flexible and fun. I encourage active communication and discussion and enjoy the versatility of my subject and the ability to relate the work to topical issues; this helps with general understanding and also helps the student to consider issues on a broader spectrum.

Safguarding and gaining the trust of my student is also a huge part of my ethos. Through trust comes confidence and through confidence comes successful progress and development.

About the lesson

Having been tutoring privately for the past 3 years, I know what makes a good lesson! Friendly, patient and versatile, lessons are always student led and tailored to the exacting requirements of my tutee.

Usually an hour in length, I work with students to ensure that content is covered in a way that is condusive to their learning and in a way that complements the work they are doing in the classroom - or alongside the curriculum if the student is homeschooled.

I am passionate about my subject and impart my enthusuasm onto a wide variety of students;from those preparing for the 11+ entrance exam to those studying the subject at a higher level.

I strive to ensure my students gains the very best in order to help them on their path to success.
