I am a registered early childhood teacher in New Zealand from Taiwan. In my free time, I enjoy playing music a lot, which allows me to attain quite some achievements in this hobby. I possess a rare ability called Absolute Pitch (AP). This allows me to thrive in various choirs (e.g., Christchurch City Choir), compose my own music for fun, and enjoy entertaining my parents and grandparents by playing various songs from their generations with little or no need to look for scores.

As an educator, I believe that "learning how to learn" is crucial. However, I have seldom seen instructors focus on this part - most of them either eagerly pass on their knowledge or let you explore "freely" (but actually "helplessly"). They either overlook "different students have different learning styles" or fail to realise that "their students understand little or none of the subject they are teaching", respectively. Are you an absolute beginner who has given up exploring or learning music because you're scared of complicated and overwhelming music sheets? Have you ever dreamed of singing or playing musical instruments like a prodigy, only to realise it seems impossible because you believe you have no talent?

Don't worry! I am the perfect solution for your anxiety about learning music and the saviour for those who feel tone-deaf. Here's why:
* Choir Experience: With about 8 years of experience thriving in various choirs, from the professional Christchurch City Choir to casual singing groups, I've picked up different rehearsal styles and music learning methods from various conductors.
* Early Childhood Teaching Experience: Every person was once a little kid, and therefore, Early Childhood Education (ECE) is the origin of all learning. As a New Zealand registered ECE teacher, I understand the foundational principles of how humans learn. I've participated in a professional development workshop that focused on teaching music to children, discovering some methods that suit all beginners, regardless of whether they are children or not.
* Absolute Pitch (AP): I have a rare musical ability called AP. People with AP are like Superman in music; they have their "superpower", which allows them to grasp the correct pitches far more easily and quickly than others. For me, AP enables me to:
- Sing confidently and independently in choirs, karaoke, etc.
- Learn singing and musical instruments faster by easily correcting pitch mistakes during rehearsals.
- Play favourite melodies freely on various instruments, especially piano and keyboard.

Now, you might be asking: where can I lead you on your musical journey through this course? By learning how to learn music with me, you will:
* Build confidence and a sense of achievement in playing music.
* Acquire insights into how I, as a music enthusiast with AP, practice and play music.
* Learn practical musical skills and tips for beginners, such as reading music sheets, correcting your own mistakes, and using tools that help you learn music.
What you gain from this course can be easily transferred to your future singing practice, musical instrument learning, and so on.

Imagine you're in front of a skyscraper and want to go to higher stories. Would you rather be guided by someone who lives on the top floor but can barely see where you are on the street, or someone who lives on the high floors and has experience leading you from the entrance to the elevators? There may be plenty of tutors out there who hold XYZ musical degrees and claim they are "pure-blood". However, can they really help an absolute beginner like you?
