About Lumi

I have over 14 years of experience teaching piano, backed by a Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano. My lessons are personalized to fit each student’s unique goals and learning style. I specialize in chord theory, ear training, improvisation, and building strong performance skills. Whether you’re just starting out or aiming for advanced mastery, I create a supportive and engaging environment to help you grow confidently. I’ve taught students across all levels, from beginners to those preparing for professional performances. My teaching covers various styles, including classical, jazz, and more, so you can explore the music that excites you most. I focus on developing a solid musical foundation while encouraging creativity and expression. I believe learning piano should be enjoyable and inspiring. Together, we will unlock your musical potential and have fun along the way. I’m excited to start this journey with you and help you reach your goals!

About the lesson

My teaching approach is focused on helping students grow as confident and skilled pianists, whether they are beginners or more advanced players. I tailor lessons to each student’s goals, whether it’s passing exams, learning jazz or pop styles, or composing original music. Understanding music theory is key, so I integrate it naturally into lessons to help students read, understand, and create music better.

I prepare students for exams like ABRSM, Rockschool, and A-Levels, following their specific syllabi closely. This ensures steady progress and readiness for assessments. Along with technique and performance, I teach the history of music to give students a deeper appreciation of different styles and composers.

Creativity is very important to me. I encourage students to experiment with composition and improvisation, helping them develop their unique musical voice. For jazz pianists, I focus on chord progressions, scales, and rhythm to build strong improvisation skills. For pop players, I emphasize catchy melodies, chord patterns, and song structures.

My lessons are a mix of structured learning and fun practice. I support students every step of the way, helping them stay motivated and confident. My goal is not just to teach piano but to inspire a lifelong passion for music.
