About Kimberly
Short: Kimberly StarKey is a multi award winning pianist and composer with 15+ years of successfully composing, performing and teaching music. While she is an accomplished musician, her real superpower is her big heart which she uses to guide others to experience their own musical freedom. __________________ Long: Kimberly StarKey, also known as The Rogue Pianist, is a multi award winning classically trained contemporary pianist and composer born and raised in Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley. Her musical style can be described as powerful, radiant, and inspiring. Rooted in both romantic-classical and contemporary styles, her debut album of original piano compositions “Dream” was nominated for Album of the Year in 2014 by Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, and her composition “Ascension” was nominated at the 2016 Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Her composition "Approach to the Inmost Cave" was signed by Warner Chappell Music, a subsidiary company of Warner Bros., and won Best Original Composition, Best Instrumental Music at the 2023 Lit Talent Awards. She won two titles of Best Composer, and her Composition Symphony of Angels won Best Original Composition at the Lit Talent Awards. Kimberly co-wrote Jennifer Thomas’ The Fire Within, a contemporary double piano concerto that debuted in the Billboard classical music charts at number 3, at number 2 in the classical crossover music charts, and won ‘Classical Song of the Year’ in 2020 at the International Music and Entertainment Awards, Best Instrumental Music Video at The Indie Gathering International Festival, and Best Music Video at the 2019 Silicon Beach Film Festival. Kimberly and her original music have been featured in 7 music videos including Pride and Prejudice, a Spoken Work piece by J.ournal awarded Best Music Video by the LA Independent Film Festival in 2019.
