About Isla

I’m a violin tutor with over ten years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Violin. My teaching takes a holistic and therapeutic approach, focusing on self-expression, emotional release, and musical storytelling. I encourage students to explore improvisation, journaling, and soundscape creation as tools for personal growth and deeper connection with music. I have worked with neurodiverse learners, trauma survivors, and adult students seeking healing through the power of sound. Each lesson is tailored to support emotional needs while developing technical skills. I believe the violin offers a unique way to express what words sometimes cannot. Through my guidance, students learn to use the violin as a safe space to explore their inner voice and emotions. Whether you are new to the instrument or returning after a break, my goal is to create an encouraging and nurturing environment. About the lesson

My violin teaching approach blends traditional techniques with innovative technology to enhance learning and engagement. I use metronome apps to help students develop precise rhythm coordination and tuning software to ensure pitch accuracy from the start. Slow-motion video playback allows us to carefully review posture and bowing techniques, providing clear visual feedback that supports steady improvement. Backing tracks add depth to practice sessions, encouraging expressive tone matching and musicality.
