About Laila

I am an experienced and passionate Sociology and English Literature tutor, dedicated to helping students reach their full potential. My journey in education has been marked by a commitment to academic excellence, evidenced by my achievement of an A* in English Literature and A in Sociology at A-Level under the Edexcel and AQA exam boards. This success is not only a testament to my deep understanding of the subjects but also to my ability to navigate and excel in rigorous academic environments.

My teaching experience is diverse and inclusive, having worked at Little Heath, a special needs school, where I honed my ability to adapt my teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student. This experience has equipped me with the patience, empathy, and flexibility required to support learners from all backgrounds, ensuring they grasp complex concepts in a way that resonates with them.

In addition to formal teaching, I have a history of peer tutoring during my A-Levels, where I organized and led study sessions that helped my classmates achieve their academic goals. My approach is collaborative, encouraging students to actively participate and engage with the material. I focus on building critical thinking skills, enhancing literary comprehension, and boosting confidence, all of which are essential for mastering A levels. With my guidance, students not only improve their grades but also develop a genuine appreciation for their subjects. About the lesson

I offer personalised virtual lessons via webcam, designed to fit your specific needs and learning style. Our first 45 minutes session is completely free and serves as an opportunity for me to understand what areas you need help with and to learn more about your goals and aspirations in English Literature. During this initial session, we'll also discuss your preferred learning methods to ensure that the tutoring is tailored to your unique needs.

Following this, we'll schedule one-hour lessons that are bespoke to your requirements. Each session will be carefully planned to target the areas where you need the most support, helping you build confidence and achieve your academic goals. If you are preparing for your AS or A level exams, I am here to help you succeed!
