About Ludmila

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have been teaching English for twenty years. I taught English as a foreign language at Moscow Teacher Training University, at school, and in the Lifelong Learning sector in Ipswich (Suffolk County Council and Realise Futures) and currently at WEA (Workers Educational Association). I taught students of 16 nationalities from all walks of life. I prepared students for speaking, listening, reading and writing exams and often had a 100% exam pass rate. I always make sure that every student feels at home in my class.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

Yes, enhanced DBS

- Where and with whom did you train?

Moscow Teacher Training University, MA (Linguistics) 1996, Moscow
City and Guilds, Additional Diploma in Teaching Literacy and ESOL 2010, Ipswich
Creative Writing Course, Cork, Ireland
Interpreters short course, Glasgow

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

WEA (Workers Educational Association)

- Tell me about some of your current students.

I have a very conscientious Spanish student who is determined to impriove her pronunciation. We work a lot on her sounds and she is doing very well. She also wants to improve her grammar and writing.
An English gentleman is taking lessons of Russian as he is going to visit Russia soon and wants to be able to converse and read basic info. He used to torture himself with academic grammar books but now has agreed to change his approach to learning and finds it effective.
I am delighted that I left happy memories and some of my former students have asked me to teach them privately. Two ladies from Eastern Europe are serious about their career opportunities and are working hard on their English. Their speaking and listening skills being good, they want much more than the basics. At the moment English Grammar is at the centre of their attention, and they are improving their reading and writing skills.
