I am a high school teacher (ESL and Geography), currently teaching Academic English courses at the English Language Centre at Macquarie University. I have over 20 years of experience teaching ESL - both overseas and in Australia.

My teaching methodology depends on the needs of my students. Most of my lessons are based on student-centered and communicative activities which require the students to be active and reflective learners; however, I also include teacher-led activities when explicit teaching is required such as modelling an academic paragraph. I always ask myself, 'What does the student need to achieve and what is the best way to get there?'
