About Deborah

As a graduate of Psychology, I love learning and being in a learning environment and I find tutoring offers variety and the ability to remain in the learning space. I am able to serve my community and offer flexible ways to learn through the creativity and independence tutoring offers. Most importantly, I would like to make a difference in people's lives by offering a safe space to collaborate and learn effectively.

About the lesson

I have tutored in Jamaica and the UK remotely and face to face. I am easygoing, patient, compassionate, working hard for you to achieve the grades you deserve. I have a wide experience of working with pupils of many different ages, in small groups or on an individual basis. I can provide references from a number of past pupils. I enjoy teaching and am considered to have a caring approach and I try to make sure that learning takes place in a relaxed but studious situation. I plan to help my students by listening and learning from them, ensuring lessons are mutual dialogues and not lectures. My approach to tutoring is to collaborate, be a good listener with flexibility, honesty, and integrity. During lessons, I plan to make it a fun, rewarding experience while contributing valuable knowledge to tutees. My knowledge of the curriculum varies between subjects although I am familiar with AQA AS A level, GCSE SAT's key stages, and International Baccalaureate diploma. With a BSc and MSc and a member of the Jamaican Psychological Society and British Psychological Society, I can assist with assignments and thesis projects. Previous tutoring experience includes English language at GCSE and A level, including tutoring two students from a B to an A, tutored 3 students from a 4 to a 7 in English GCSE. Supported tutees in Psychology A level, undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology. I started tutoring in 2018 at the beginning of my MSc online with students from Derby University where I was a student.
