About Lucia
For nearly a decade, I have taught chess with a focus on clarity, patience, and encouragement. Many of my students are retirees who enjoy keeping their minds sharp and exploring new challenges. My teaching style emphasizes a calm pace and steady progress. Every student receives personalized attention to match their strengths and goals. We begin with solid fundamentals, from basic tactics to structured openings. As skills grow, we explore deeper middlegame strategies and essential endgames. I also love weaving in stories of chess history and great players. Famous games inspire students to think creatively and strategically. Each lesson includes both explanation and practice for balance. I encourage open discussion and questions, keeping learning interactive. The game is never rushed—growth happens step by step. Progress builds confidence and makes playing more rewarding. Chess teaches focus, patience, and resilience. Most of all, it offers lifelong joy and discovery.
