My approach is bottom up whereby I will ask students what they know about subject or topic. Why they are interested or taking this subject? This is to instill curiosity and make subject more interesting to learn. I teach them to understand and able to apply it rather than memorising the fact and reproduce the answer in exam. You may score all As but fail in real life situation.
