About Jocelyn
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music and have been teaching piano for over seven years. My academic training gave me both technical expertise and performance knowledge, which I apply to lessons that are structured, clear, and encouraging for learners of all levels. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults, helping them achieve personal and academic goals. Some students prepared for graded exams, while others simply wanted to enjoy playing. My ability to adapt ensures lessons meet each learner’s unique needs and ambitions. What defines me as a tutor is my commitment to student growth and creativity. I believe piano study teaches discipline, focus, and self-expression beyond music itself. My mission is to help learners not only improve their piano skills but also develop confidence and passion for lifelong learning.

My piano lessons begin with a strong focus on fundamental skills. Students learn posture, hand positioning, and essential finger exercises such as scales and arpeggios. These basics provide the stability and control required for future growth, while also helping learners play with precision and confidence.
As students progress, I introduce music theory, sight-reading, and rhythm training. By connecting theory to practical piano work, students learn how to interpret sheet music accurately and understand how pieces are constructed. This approach develops independence and prepares them to explore new works effectively.
Performance and expression form another important part of my lessons. Students practice dynamic control, phrasing, and interpretation, which help them transform notes into meaningful music. Whether preparing for exams, recitals, or personal goals, my lessons encourage artistic expression alongside technical achievement.
