About Jay
I am a freestyle dance artist with a deep passion for movement, creative expression, and community engagement. Specialising in popping and whacking. I have been actively training, performing and recently organised my first event in 2024 for the community. My background in architecture (master's degree) allows me to explore the relationship between movement and environment.

Teaching method (1 hour): Warm-up & Foundation Drills – Preparing the body with isolations, grooves, and rhythm exercises. Technique Breakdown – Learning popping fundamentals such as hits, waves, glides, and musicality. Whacking fundamentals such as roles, poses, flick and grab. Freestyle Training – Guided exercises to develop improvisation skills and movement flow. Creative Challenges – Engaging drills to help students step out of their comfort zones and build confidence. Cypher & Feedback – Ending with a freestyle where students can apply what they’ve learned and receive constructive feedback. Dance Experience: I have 4 years teaching experience as a tutor and lessons are for all ages.
