I offer bespoke tutoring sessions to meet individuals' needs. Offering proofreading essays, assignments and dissertations for social work students or health and social care students. I am very lucky that I have had a lot of wonderful students contact me through this website and have supported them in a number of ways since April 2020. Some have weekly support and some see me on an ad hoc basis. I have supported social work students within my workplace as their practice educator recently meaning I am up to date with university expectations, reflective practice and written work. My teaching method is a collaborative one which enables the student to reflect upon and grow as a social work practitioner. I am nurturing and honest. I break down pieces of work/information into manageable chunks, offer guidance, share knowledge, ask questions to help develop reflective skills, linking theory to practice and a client-centred way of practice. I can offer bespoke tutoring in the following areas: - specific subject areas for courses or degrees that a student may be struggling with. -proofreading assignments, essays or dissertations. -breaking down assignment or exam criteria. Supporting with what to cover, learning objectives and onward signposting to reading resources. -preparing for practice placement -legislation and policy lessons - Developing reflective practice and critical analysis skills

Deadly! In my first year of my social work degree, Katy supported me with proof reading of my assignments, making sure I met the marking criteria and learning outcomes to achieve high grades. This allowed me to achieve an overall Distinction for year one.
Currently in my second year, I have started having online tutoring sessions, as well as proof reading for my Social Work Law module. Katy has supported me with applying legislation to practice examples as well as breaking down my assignment, discussing what needs to be included and making sure I meet the learning outcomes and if not, how I can achieve this. Katy's support and guidance has increased my confidence in my ability to complete my assignments and developed my understanding of social work. Katy is easy to talk to, encouraging and supportive and has always been accommodating to work around my availability and assignment deadlines. Thank you Katy.Deadly! Katy is a great tutor, I have had a number of lessons with her to help with my analysis skills and feeling more confident preparing for exams. I didn’t feel rushed. I was supported and it’s clear she is knowledgable as a social worker. Thanks so much!
I’ve had 4x tutor sessions with Katy. She has helped me to prepare for my final statutory placement and a law exam. I have found Katy to be helpful in developing my knowledge and my confidence with social work practice. Katy has also helped me link theory to practice, which I struggled with during previous placements!
I have known Katy most of my life. Katy is ambitious, and dedicated, with the strong desire to succeed In everything she does. Katy has a passion for teaching others, and will always work hard to ensure she can help to the fullest of her potential. Katy is a reliable, and trustworthy person, that can definitely be recommended.
