About James
I'm James, a Professional Writer and Researcher based in Brisbane. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative and Professional Writing from QUT and have published long-form work on history, politics, and governance. I've always been drawn to helping others express ideas clearly - whether in essays, creative projects, or academic writing. Tutoring lets me combine my communication skills with a passion for learning. I enjoy supporting students at all levels to build confidence, think critically, and find their voice.

My lessons are structured yet flexible, designed to build confidence and clarity in written communication. I guide students through essay planning, reading comprehension, and analytical thinking using practical examples and real-world context.
Each session runs for about an hour and is tailored to the student's goals - whether improving creative writing, mastering essay structure, or developing deeper understanding in English, History, or Politics.
With a BFA, plus published work on Medium, I bring academic depth and empathy to my teaching. I work with primary, secondary, and university students who want to improve their writing skills.
