  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

Developed a passion for music when I was very young. I probably grew up with music. My day started with Musical invocation and prayer and the chanting of 'Om' which my whole family did. It worked as a beginning lesson for voice culture. Music was a part of my growth. I heard my elder sister playing sitar when I was in grade 6th. I used to play it when she was not around. This is how my love for Sitar developed.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

I like many artists and listen to them. Listening to someone on a loop or very often never drives you crazy if you have a craze in you to learn and . explore more and more.
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

Indian Classical music is so deep and soothing, magical and magnetic, diverse yet one. Indian music has an immense variety to offer a student according to their choice interest and personality. I can train the student for anything they wish to play on sitar.

The most interesting course I may offer is learning and understanding of Raag. The melodic improvisations of notes in a particular Indian scale, within and without Rhythm. Different Genre to be composed in a particular melodic scale called Raag. Every lesson is a preparation to achieve this target.
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

No manmade instrument is difficult if one is bent to master it.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

Respect for your Guru, hardwork, daily Riyaaz or practice, patience and discipline.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

I don't know how to address this. But I have stopped dreaming to meet My favourite artists as I can listen to them on social media. My love with my favourite artists is about their music. Meeting anyone personally in a bar may give you pleasure for a while but it is transitory.
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

When I joined the college every music happening in my senior classes attracted me. So, after attending my own class I would often stand outside the classrooms of the students doing masters in music. Sometimes finding me standing outside the lecture room, the lecturer would let me inside the class and sit. But I was not allowed to play because I was doing My bachelor Course. This way I could listen to what my seniors were playing and gave me targets to achieve. I was loved and appreciated bye all the lectures in the college due to my love for music, hard work, and perseverance.
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

I teach music so that I can teach my art to all those who want to learn Indian classical music. I wish to give away the knowledge my Guru shared with me and blessed me.
