About Jacqueline

I am a trained English/Humanities and ESL teacher. I have worked for several years supporting students with these subjects. I have assisted both primary students, high school students and adults. I helped one young high school student improve her essay writing and achieve much better marks in English. Her improvement in her writing became obvious in Humanities subjects too. I also helped a native Italian speaker improve her English, so she could apply for jobs in fashion. It was great to see her finally secure a position in a boutique.

About the lesson

My lessons are directed towards high school students and university students, who need help with English. This could include reading and comprehension, writing essays, sentence structure, analysing literature texts or preparing oral presentations.
My lessons are quite relaxed, but normally follow a process. Introduce and discuss the topic, examples given, students follow and practice themselves, review work and give feedback. Sometimes I allow the lesson to be student directed as they may wish to work on a specific area. We can then do exercises to work on this area, discuss it and extra homework can be given so the student can practice at home.

Bennett loves to read and he did very well in our first lesson. His favourite area of study is technology. His level of comprehension for a nine year old is excellent. I will be working on his writing and exam preparation, so he can perform well under time constraints.

Deadly! Jacqueline teacher has taken each of my daughter's different personalities and strengths and tailor makes her lessons to benefit them greatly. They look forward to her lessons and feel a lot more positive towards English!

Sienna's reading and comprehension is very good. She just needs a little writing practice. She is very conscientious and wants to improve, so improvement will come quickly. Jinah did very well with sounding out her words, and will improve quickly as her confidence builds. It will be exciting to see her writing improve as she gains understanding of the sounds of the letters and practices consistently.
